How it works

  2. Place text, checkmarks, dates, or initials by page and position; optionally draw a signature.
  3. Review the additions, optionally flatten them, then save the edited PDF.

Limits

Processed locally on your device. Your file is never uploaded to SumoPDF. This fills existing AcroForm fields and ADDS text, marks, and a visual signature over the page; it does NOT rewrite existing embedded PDF text. Added items can be removed before export. A drawn signature is not a certificate-backed digital signature or identity verification. Beta limits: desktop up to 40 MB and 400 pages; mobile up to 15 MB and 150 pages. Password-protected PDFs are not supported.

Common questions

Is it safe to fill out and sign a contract or application form online?

Yes, it is completely safe because your form is never uploaded to a server. All the information you type and the signature you draw are processed locally in your browser. Your private data stays on your device.

How do I add my signature to a document?

You can draw your signature using your mouse or trackpad, or on a touchscreen device. The tool also allows you to save your signature if you have a paid account, so you can quickly reuse it on other documents.

Can I edit the existing text in a PDF?

This tool is for filling out forms and adding new content like text, checkmarks, and signatures. It does not allow you to directly edit or change the original, existing text of the PDF.

Is my signature legally binding?

Signatures created with this tool are a digital representation of your handwritten signature, often referred to as an electronic signature. Their legal validity depends on your country's laws and the specific requirements of the document you are signing.
