How it works
Add the PDF you want to convert.
Select Convert and review.
An .xlsx workbook opens for review, with each detected table on its own sheet. Download or share it when ready.
Limits
Browser-local. Detects tables in the PDF and puts each on its own worksheet; a PDF with no detectable tables produces a Text sheet (one row per line). Best for PDFs that contain real tables. Every cell keeps its displayed text, so leading zeros, IDs, phone numbers, and dates are not altered; it cannot recover original formulas, hidden sheets, cell types, or exact formatting. It reads the PDF's text layer, so scanned (image-only) PDFs need OCR first. Beta limits: desktop up to 40 MB and 400 pages; mobile devices up to 15 MB and 150 pages. Password-protected PDFs are not supported.
Common questions
Is my financial data safe when converting a PDF to Excel?
Yes, your data is safe because the conversion happens entirely in your browser. Your PDF file is never uploaded to a server, so your sensitive financial or personal information remains private on your device.
How do I extract a table from just one page of my PDF?
The tool is designed to find and extract tables from your entire document. For more precise control, you could first use our Split PDF tool to isolate the specific page you need, then run the conversion on that smaller file.
Will the Excel file have formulas?
No, the tool extracts the text and numbers from your PDF tables into Excel cells, but it does not recreate formulas. You will get the data in an editable spreadsheet format, but you will need to re-apply any calculations.
Can I convert a PDF with many tables and pages?
The free tool can convert a PDF up to 25 pages long. For converting longer documents or for unlimited conversions, you will need a paid plan. The paid plan also includes OCR for converting scanned tables.
