Scan documents to PDF

SumoPDF mascot

Capture pages with your camera, or add photos, and combine them into a PDF, entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.

    How it works

    1. Select Use camera and allow camera access, then Capture page for each page. Or select Add photos to use images already on your device.
    2. Captured pages appear below; remove any you do not want.
    3. Select Create PDF and review. Each page becomes one page of the PDF, in order.

    Limits

Browser-local. Camera capture needs a device camera and your permission; if none is available, use Add photos. JPG and PNG only. Beta limits: up to 50 pages and 200 MB total (mobile 20 pages, 60 MB); each image up to 40 MB (15 MB on mobile) and 40 megapixels (20 MP on mobile); 400 total pages (150 on mobile). Camera images are never uploaded and are discarded when you leave the page.

    Common questions

Are the documents I scan with my camera kept private?

Yes, your scans are private. When you use your device's camera, the images are processed directly in your browser. They are not uploaded to a server, so your scanned document remains on your device.

How do I scan a multi-page document into a single PDF?

You can take a picture of each page one by one using your device's camera. The tool will collect all the images, and you can then reorder or delete them before creating a single PDF file containing all the pages.

Can I turn existing photos from my phone into a PDF?

Yes, in addition to using the camera, you can also select existing photos from your device's gallery. This allows you to combine photos you have already taken into a single, multi-page PDF document.

Will the PDF I create be searchable?

By default, the PDF created from scans or photos will be an image-based document and not searchable. To make it searchable, you would need to process the file with an OCR (Optical Character Recognition) tool after creating it.
