Split a PDF
Extract the pages you name into a new PDF and download it, entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
How it works
- Add the PDF you want to split.
- Type the pages to keep, for example 1-3, 8. A reversed range like 8-1 is read as 1-8.
- Select Extract and review. The named pages are saved in order to a new PDF on your device.
Limits
Browser-local. Beta limits: desktop up to 40 MB and 400 pages; mobile devices up to 15 MB and 150 pages. Password-protected PDFs are not supported.
Common questions
If I split a sensitive document, is the original file uploaded anywhere?
No, your original file is never uploaded or stored on a server. The entire splitting process happens securely within your web browser. Your document's contents remain private on your own device.
How do I select which pages to extract into a new file?
After opening your PDF, you will see a preview of all its pages. You can click to select the specific pages you want to pull out. The tool will then create a new PDF containing only the pages you chose.
Can I split a PDF that is longer than 25 pages?
The free version of the tool is limited to processing documents up to 25 pages. To split a PDF with more than 25 pages, you would need to upgrade to a paid plan, which removes all page limits.
What is the difference between splitting a PDF and deleting pages?
Splitting a PDF creates a new file containing only the pages you select. Deleting pages removes the pages you select from the original document, leaving you with the rest. Both tools help you manage the contents of your PDF.
