Common questions
Is it secure to enter my PDF password online to remove it?
Yes, it is secure because your password and your file are never sent to a server. The entire unlocking process happens in your browser on your device. Your password is only used locally to decrypt the file.
Can this tool remove a password that I do not know?
No, this tool cannot crack or remove a password that you do not know. You must have the correct current password to open and decrypt the PDF. The tool then saves a new version of the file without the password requirement.
Can I unlock a PDF that is more than 25 pages long?
Using the free tool, you can remove a known password from a PDF that is up to 25 pages long. To unlock larger documents, you will need to subscribe to a paid plan, which has no page limits.
What happens to my original password-protected file?
